Why are some photo appearing a as a "path" rather than the photo itself?

When writing a post, the initial photos are placed where I need them and are visible when viewed. Subsequent photos just have a “path” to the photo e.g. (Path: p » img.size-large wp-image-13 ) . These are photo that I have loaded into the gallery. It seems to require clicking the “path box” in order to view the photo. Very cumbersome and undesirable. In previous blogs it never did this. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there, would you mind giving me a link to a post where this is happening so I can take a look and do some investigation? Even if it’s a draft post, I’ll be able to see it. Thanks!

Do you experience this in another browser, like Firefox or Chrome?

You will notice that the second image appears as a “path” rather than the photo itself.
I have tried it also with Chrome and the same happens.
    Thanks for trying.

Thanks for pointing that out. I can see that the image source (src) is missing from the image tag in the code:

    <img class="size-large wp-image-13" alt=""Camp-École" />

Could you please let me know which photo you’re trying to add there so I can do some testing? You could give me its file name, title in the media library, or a link to the image, so I can find it. Thanks!

    Maybe this will help:

    P.Q. 1968″ src=”http://mino68villienp.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/scanned-image-102100001.jpg?w=660″ width=”660″ height=”510″ /> Camp-École Marie-Victorin
    Camp Trois-Saumaons,
    P.Q. 1968

You will notice that some photos appear “normally” but subsequent ones come out with “path” names.

I’ve fixed up all the broken images I could find.

If this happens again, could you please give me a link to the page, and the name of the file, so I can try to pin down the cause? Thanks for your help.

    Kathryn,
Thank you so much for your help. I had no idea what was wrong. It never happened before on any of my other WP blogs. I am still a little confused why it happened. I was using many of the same photos I used on some of the other blogs on which I had no problem. But I am so pleased you were there to fix it. (Very positive +++++ and productive!)
Last question: how do I make sure I do not repeat the same error?

    Merci beaucoup,
    Paul

Bonjour Paul, I was not been able to pinpoint the cause of this issue, even after some testing. Do let me know if it happens again and we’ll continue troubleshooting.

    Here I am again!
I added some other pics and it just started acting up again putting the path names in.
    Here is the link:

Here is what the attempted pic looks like:

    Camp Minogami, Québec
Posted on March 28, 2013 by Pableau

    ” src=”http://pableaujournals.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/320666_106357012807274_100002989281900_47242_94513221_n1.jpg?w=640″ width=”640″ height=”480″ /> Camp-École Minogami Administration Lodge
(former “Domaine Weiker”) Lac Minogami, Québec

Is it me? It worked fine all evening until I inserted this one.

Thanks for this new example, it’s very helpful.

It looks like some empty space is being added right after the ALT tag, which is causing the code to break, as you can see in this screenshot:

    Edit Post ‹ Pableau_s Journals — WordPress.jpg

When I removed this blank space and resaved the post, the image displayed correctly:

    http://pableaujournals.wordpress.com/2013/03/28/camp-minogami-quebec/

The trick is to figure out where that blank space is coming from.

From what source are you pasting the text in the ALT tag? Would it be possible to make sure there are no blank spaces after that text when you paste it in? Let me know how it goes!
