Why are the prices on the homepage for a business WordPress site NOT reflected in the prices when you go to make the purchase? I need help in understanding why the homepage says one price and the set up screens give a completely different and overall absurdly inflated cost.

The blog I need help with is newhomesconcierge.wordpress.com.

Hi! The pricing at the Pricing page should be just the same as when you set up a plan. Please note that prices are listed as per month, billed annually. All plans on WordPress.com are billed annually upfront for the year. There is not an option to pay monthly.

Could that be the difference you are seeing there? Let us know where you’re confused.

No. this does not answer my question. The HOMEPAGE of WordPress.com lists under “Versatile pricing and plans” a premium cost of $25.00/per month billed annually, while the pricing page lists the premium website with use of 3rd party templates at $405/month.

This is the huge difference I am confused with.

    Hi briceallen2009,

Just to confirm — are you referring to the price difference between the Premium and Business plans on our Pricing page?

    #3096190

No. I am referring to the difference between what is listed as you scroll down the homepage, and what is listed on the separate pricing page you have linked. If I could attach a screen shot here I would.

I would like to use a 3rd party template (Divi), but $4,000 for a premium site on WordPress isn’t an affordable option. I was disappointed when what was shown on the wordpress homepage wasn’t reflected in the actual billing.

Are you referring to https://wordpress.com/#plans ?? What country are you in? Perhaps you are seeing the prices in a different currency on each of the different pages and need staff to amend your account to the currency of your choice? https://wordpress.com/pricing/ should be showing the same prices. And if you want to upgrade from a free plan here https://wordpress.com/plans you should see the same prices also.

Again. Not what I am seeing, and it has nothing to do with currency.

If you log out of you account and go to wordpress.com. Click the WordPress logo in the top left of the page and scroll down until you see “Versatile Plans and Pricing”. The business plan is listed as $25.00/mo billed annually. The pricing page lists the business plan as $405/month.

Yes that is the first link I gave. You have to be logged out of WordPress.com to reach it of course. I see the above for a second or two before it changes to £££s as I am in the UK. Those prices are a guide, showing monthly costs when plans are billed annually. Those prices should be the same on all different pages around WordPress.com. The “pricing page” you are seeing must be incorrect for some reason. Can you confirm for staff that this link https://wordpress.com/pricing/ shows $405 per month.

Yes. That is what I am looking at. But the math does not add up, nor does the fact that the checkout page wants to charge me over $4000.

    Hi briceallen2009,

If you are logged in to WordPress.com, prices should be displayed in your account currency (MXN). There is a Business plan in your cart for “405.00 MXN x 12 months”, which is equal to MX$4,860. The price you are seeing there is correct.

If you log out of you account and go to wordpress.com. Click the WordPress logo in the top left of the page and scroll down until you see “Versatile Plans and Pricing”. The business plan is listed as $25.00/mo billed annually.

We do not know your exact currency if you are viewing the pricing page logged out of WordPress.com. The $25 amount you are seeing is the monthly cost in USD rather than MXN.
