Why can't my posts go into a separate category?

This is really frustrating. I’m trying to set up my new blog about my career and I want to have a section called ‘Career Blog’. Now I have written a post to go into this section, but I when I click ‘Publish’ it doesn’t show up on that section. I have created a ‘Career Blog’ section in the Menu and I have created a ‘Career Blog’ category so that the post can go into that section, but it still isn’t showing up! My ‘Career Blog’ page is completely empty!

    Please can someone help me?

The blog I need help with is storyofanunemployedgraduate.wordpress.com.

Sure. This is a common mistake; you don’t use static pages, you use categories, and category pages, and custom menus. wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/posts-on-pages/

Ok I just tried all this and it didn’t work.
Basically, I had a blog before that had 8 posts on it and I’ve decided to upgrade it because I want to take things further. My previous blog was a basic theme that only allowed for one page, meaning all my posts were on the same page. So now that I’m trying to create a new menu on my new blog, I want to put all those posts into that one menu called ‘Career Blog’, but its just not working.

If I gave you my details, do you think you could do it for me, as I’m exhausted trying to work it out?

Clearly you are misunderstanding the way blogs work. ALL wordpress.com blogs allow not only posts but multiple pages. If you give me your details, I could do it. I do it for clients all the time. But I will charge you $400 up front to do it, and it will not take you more than 3/4 of an hour to figure it out. Follow the instructions in that link., They work.
