Why did my last post disappeared twice?

My last post disappeared. I later used my revisions to publish it again, and it disappeared again. When you click on the link after it’s published the page says “Not Found”.

The blog I need help with is onepersonsingular.wordpress.com.

    I meant to say disappear.

This is what the page says once you click on the link to my last blog:

    “Not Found

Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching”

Could you please let me know the title of the post so I can investigate, along with the original publication date and approximate time, with time zone? Thanks very much.

Would you also mind please confirming from where you added the post?

    From the WordPress.com dashboard?

From the QuickPress box on your own dashboard, here? https://onepersonsingular.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

From the main administration area under Posts > Add New, here?

    Thanks for your help.

I had a smiliar issue. My post has disappeared multiple times now. When it does appear, it only had the first sentence. …this has been an issue since Thursday of last week.

Ashley – would you mind starting a new thread to describe your issue in detail? Please add the word modlook in the Tags section in the right column so Staff will respond. It’ll be much easier to help troubleshoot in your very own thread. :-)

In that new thread, please include answers to the following questions:

    – title of the post
    – original publication date and approximate time, with time zone
    – from where did you add the post?
    a) From the WordPress.com dashboard?
    b) From the QuickPress box on your own dashboard, like here? https://yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
    c) From the main administration area under Posts > Add New, like here?

    Thanks very much!

    hi all,

checking to see if a solution to this issue was ever found? I’ve started my own thread (“Blog post disappeared”) but haven’t come across a way to recover the post. thanks!

Hi jannabubley – I added the modlook tag to your thread so Staff will take a look.

Not resolved at all. I just posted another copy onto a new blog.

Rachel – sorry to hear this didn’t get resolved but glad you were able to recreate the post.

I’d asked you a few follow-up questions when you originally posted so that I’d be able to investigate further, but since I didn’t see you answer them, I wasn’t able to pursue it further. If it happens again, please let me know and I’ll be glad to look into it.

Appreciate it, but not having a real person to talk to on the phone is a true shortcoming.

Why would communicating by phone be in any way shape or form be more effective support than typing specific details here?

I’m sorry that we don’t offer phone support at this time – I know some people prefer it, but it’s not something we’re able to provide. We are very happy to help you here or by email.

I made my first post today “the all important luggage” in englishmuffinandegg and it has disappeared after being published at least 3 times. Each time I go back to the dashboard it is there (as an earlier version) in draft form- i then have to re-do the changes I made and publish again.

I say it has happened at least 3 times, i keep losing count.

As I’m new I don’t know if i’m doing something wrong, or if it is an error-

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

As you can see from the above, it’s a known bug and as far as we’re aware there’s no particular cure. You can try using an offline blog editor like Blogdesk or Windows Live Writer. That will at least keep all your formatting etc so you don’t have to re-do it.

Hi englishmuffinandegg – could you please let me know how you’re composing and publishing the post? Are you using one of the mobile apps, by any chance, or are you logging in through your dashboard at https://englishmuffinandegg.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    Thanks for letting me know.
