Why do I have to sign in to WordPress.com to comment on other blogs?

I started a wordpress.com account (www.groggspot.wordpress.com), but then decided to go with wordpress.org (www.groggspot.com), so having to login with my old, unused wordpress.com account to comment on other people’s blogs makes no sense. Maybe I’m just missing something here?

The blog I need help with is www.groggspot.com.

The blog you specified at http://www.groggspot.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don’t understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It’ll help people to answer your question.

I know that supportbot. Thus, my confusion. Perhaps you might request that a human take a look at this question?
