Why doesn't my theme display the same way that the sample page looks?

I was thinking about buying one of the themes but when I preview it the page doesn’t display the same way it looked from the sample site. Is this because they changed some of the code in those sample pages that we get to see?

No, the newer themes are configurable and for SOME reason the default setup is not the same as the display. I don’t know why, but it’s worth letting the theme people know that this is an often-reported annoyance. If you tinker with settings, you will be able to get it working.

Do you know how to get rid of the bar on the right side that displays recent posts, archives, categories, and meta. I am still new and just trying to configure it the way I would like and keep getting results I don’t want. All the help is appreciated.

To remove the archive, recent posts and categories section from the home page you’ll have to go to the widgets page and remove them, however some themes don’t allow for this.

Great thanks. And is there a way to post to different pages or do I have to just create category pages and link certain posts?
