Why has my blog format changed?
-
I have been using the Selah theme, but have not been posting as much lately due to helping family members move from one state to another. When I came back to my blog last week it was no longer listing the headings of my pages.
When I posted today there was no resemblance to the Selah theme. It aske for the title of the post in huge print, then had the icons to choose bold, italic, etc. below that. There were no boxes on the left for me to choose categories or tags. None of my followers, or blogs I follow were posted. It was just a basic post page.My about.me page is still there (I appreciate that) and my novel is still featured at the top, but my post page is entirely different. Can I change it back without having to go through all of work to get my widgets back in place?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

lovessiamese,
WordPress has been making a lot of changes and updates lately. It will take everyone a while to become accustom to the new way of doing things.
Meanwhile, from what I am seeing you can access the classic editor directly by adding /wp-admin/post-new.php to the end of your site address.
WordPress is looking for feedback on the changes; (so I have seen on this forum). If you have specific feedback regarding the editor, please post them here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=271

WordPress.com Staff have been making these changes for that two years. Read:
https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/dashboard-update/
and https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/new-high-speed-editor/
Provide feedback at the link toniaslimm provided.Know that using the classic editor to avoid the frustration is possible. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
To create posts in the classic editor for you that link ishttp://aletakay.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing.http://aletakay.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.

@timethief, WP does not use cookies to save our preference for the classic editor. They eliminated that function several months ago.
WP also eliminated the WP-Admin link under My Sites for all new blogs (Sept/Oct 2015).

Oh! As I don’t use either of those I did not notice those changes. Thanks for letting me know. I’m old school and I know how to get where I want to go by using the relevant link structure. I don’t require any type of convenience links.

I shall now edit my copy and paste response and I appreciate you letting me know that I need to do that. -
