Why is the "instant comment emails" Reader feature not working on my blog?
I have a blog and my followers have enabled the “instant comment emails” feature within their WordPress Readers (via Reader > Blogs I Follow > EDIT and clicking EDIT next to the name of our blog, then selecting “On” for “Send new comments by email:”). Although we had thoroughly tested out this feature and it worked extremely well on our test blog, we have yet to get this feature to work on our actual blog. I realize that the “instant comment emails” feature is quite new, and am wondering whether the problem is related to the fact that the blog I’m trying to use it with is quite old, and predates the new feature by quite a bit. I would love to give you the blog address, but I would prefer to do so in an email message to WordPress support, as this is a private, password-protected blog, and I would prefer to keep its anonymity in this public forum.
The blog I need help with is testblogjie.wordpress.com.

Would you please check your email’s spam folder for these?
We have checked the SPAM folders of the 3 different users’ email accounts that are subscribed for the “instant comment emails” on this blog, but to no avail. I also posted another test comment just a few minutes ago and found that, yet again, there was no instant comment email generated as a result.
*Please note that the blog that needs troubleshooting is not the test blog listed above. I am reluctant to post the URL of our actual blog here as it is meant to be private. Can you contact me by email?
Ah, that’s the problem. Private blogs do not currently send comment subscription emails. We’re looking into this.
This cannot be the case that “private blogs do not currently send comment subscription emails.” Our test blog–referenced above–is private as well, but generates instant comment emails without a hitch each time a new comment is posted.
There is something else going on here.
