Why isn't the service I put under a parent showing up when google web name?
When I type my web name in and the site comes up then I click Services tab, the one I put under a parent isn’t there, but it is after I have set it up and checked it.
The blog I need help with is monahett.wordpress.com.
No, that is not my web name. It’s monahett.com!!!!!!!!
I see 4 child pages under Services and one grandchild page (The Bars).
WordPress.COM does not host monahett.com. This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
I went to some lengths with Word Press to take my website out of GoDaddy and put it into Word Press. And to have my GoDaddy name and photos, etc be transferred…cost me $150! People are supposed to be able to type monahett.com on the address line and go to my wordpress blog/site which they can but the tiny glitch is that the child line of The Bars is not showing up under the parent of Access Consciousness like it does if you type in monahett@ wordpress
Are you needing help with the site at http://monahett.wordpress.com/ or the site at http://www.monahett.com/ ? These sites are very similar, but the first one is hosted on WordPress.com, and the second one is hosted on ipage.com.
While they look similar, they are entirely different sites. While we can assist you with the one hosted here, we have no access to the site that’s hosted on ipage and cannot assist you with that one.
When I type in ‘monahett’ into Google, the first result is going to your ipage site, not the one hosted here.
Since the sites are similar, make sure you’re viewing the correct and most up-to-date site, whichever one that is.
Hello! Yes, I have iPage. I was told I needed a host for my website. This has just gotten so confusing! I was on the phone with WordPress several time making the switch from GoDaddy. They said they were taking care of everything. So why did I have to do the iPage thing?
Think of your hosting provider like renting a new house. You have to live somewhere, and you can live in any one on the street. Different houses have different features and options.
In this case you have the ipage house on one side of the street and the WordPress.com house on the other side. They both were furnished by the same designer, and they look similar, but they are in fact entirely different houses, and have different landlords with different policies.
You are welcome to use either hosting provider for your site, and you don’t need both. It sounds like you may already have everything set up on ipage for now, so you can just keep that set up the way it is, since you’re paying for that account now I presume.
