    Why the table doesn’t show border?
    http://webdesignstudiotoronto.wordpress.com/christmas-gift-group-buy-form/

    Here is the table’s code:
    <table width=”100%” border=”10″ cellpadding=”4″ cellspacing=”0″>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td><span class=”style1″></span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Model</span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Min Qty</span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Price</span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″></span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Model</span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Min Qty</span></td>
    <td><span class=”style1″>Price</span></td>
    </tr>

    I am using Modularity Lite theme

    Hello there,
    Th advent of HTML5 and CSS 3 means that the older HTML table codes have been deprecated. In some themes the deprecated HTML table codes still work and in others they don’t. If you go to panaghiotisadam’s blog and leave a comment asking for assistance he will help you with the code.

    As timethief said, this type of coding is deprecated. You have to use inline CSS, that is, add the style attribute and use the right properties and values:
    <table style="width:100%;border:10px solid #456789;padding:4px;">
    (456879 is just an example – replace it with the hex for the color you want.)

    Thanks, why this code is still not working?

    Table is here:

    All I need is to give the table some border so it looks prettier:

    <table style=”width:100%;border:5px solid;padding:2px;”>
    <tbody>
    <tr>

    I mean, I want to give the border some color, but it doesn’t take it, automatically get removed.

    #755208

    Look at my example again: you have omitted the coding for the color.

    If something gets removed, then you’re making some mistake that renders it invalid. We can’t tell what it is unless you paste here the exact thing you’re trying to use, enclosed in backticks (see below Reply field).
    Or copypaste the model I gave you into the HTML editor, and change the numbers with the ones you prefer, making sure you don’t mess with the punctuation marks and the rest. Color palettes and codes here:

    I successfully made the border of the entire table colorful, however, I need to make the cell also colorful, when I tried to use this:
    <tbody style=”width:100%;border:2px solid;color:#B0C4DE;padding:1px;”>

    it automatically gets changed <tbody>

    same thing also happens to <tr>

    How?

    Thanks.

    If you mean a border around each cell, you need to add border coding to each and every opening td tag. And look at my example please: there’s no semicolon and no “color” after “solid”.
    <td style="border:2px solid #B0C4DE;">

    Thank you Pana

    Pana: Just some clarification needed as I have same problem about getting border colors and grid: Here is a snippet of my current code:
    <table style=”width:100%;border:10px solid #8B1C62;padding:4px;”>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td valign=”top”>Week Beginning</td>
    <td valign=”top”>Reading Assignment</td>
    <td valign=”top”>Comment</td>
    </tr>

    My question is, when you say “add to each opening td tag”, where would I insert the border coding, after “<td” and before “valign”? Many thanks and sorry to bother.

    @stemcellcollege, yes you could do something like this,

    <td style=”border-color: #8B1C62;” valign=”top”>Week Beginning</td>

    Many many thanks…
