Widen theme & move columns

    Hi, I’m using the Oulipo theme and would like to widen the theme so that I can increase the photo width to 600. Widening the theme will push the right hand column to the bottom, underneath the posts, so I believe I will need to move it to the left. How can I do this?

    The blog I need help with is katealicecookbook.com.

    You know, with Oulipo, all widths are in em units rather than in px, and em units are not fixed, but based on the width of the letter “m” and varies due to font size. The images on your main page are 585px in width right now, and I don’t know if it would be worth the trial and error futzing required to gain only 15px in width.

    If you want to do that, we can, but this all goes under the heading of “not even close to an exact science.”

    To adjust the width of the Oulipo theme with CSS, you have to make an equal adjustment to a few different elements as well as the #entry-content margins depending on the widths you choose. Here is an example you can start with:

    #wrapper {
    	width: 70em;
    #content {
    	width: 60em;
    #entry-content {
    	width: 42em;
    	margin: 0 1em 0 2em;
    #supplementary {
    	width: 14em;

    Note that to make it so future images are inserted at a larger size, you should adjust the limit width on the Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page. Using my example above, you would want to set the limit width to 672 for example.

    Hi, I did the example you suggested and it is perfect, thank you! I’m really happy with the size of the images now and glad that I didn’t have to lose or move a column.

    Thanks to both of you for your help; I’m really impressed with the speed and the support on these forums,
