Widget sidebar disappeared in Chrome
Greetings to you all and hope you can help. I have a very curious problem with my blog. Since I added the latest post yesterday afternoon, the right widget sidebar has disappeared… but only when viewing the blog in Google Chrome. When viewed in either IE or Firefox, the sidebar is back in its usual place. The problem is obviously related to the last post, as if I view previous posts in Chrome, everything is where it should be. The post is a very simple one with a couple of photos and some text. I’ve had a look at the html and I just can’t think what could be causing Chrome to behave in this way. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Sarah.
The blog I need help with is wild-eyes.eu.
Sorry, I meant the left sidebar (the caffeine hasn’t taken effect yet!), Sarah.
I’ve managed to get the sidebar back by reposting the piece bit by bit to identify the piece of code causing the problem. Strangely, it was the <
> between two paragraphs which produced the disappearance. Can’t imagine why as nearly all my posts contain them. Just in case anyone else has the same problem, thought I’d post the answer.
It’s common. See here: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/
Thanks for replying :-). I had actually read up about the problem so I knew it could be caused be the code. The strange thing is that there was nothing “odd” about the post, just some text with a few “italics” and a couple of photos, like all my posts. The culprit was a simple br code between two paragraphs and i just can’t imagine how that could have caused a problem with Chrome, but not with the other browsers I tried. The problem is solved anyway, so all’s well that ends well I suppose!
