Widgets adding themselves/sidebar as footer

While updating my blog I noticed my right sidebar went missing. In its place was the wordpress footer with the Top button. If you look, my sidebar is the footer. In addition to the sidebar moving, extra widgets self populated at the bottom. I don’t even have them activated. I only had Email Subscriptions and Pages. Any help would be much appreciated.

The blog I need help with is belowthehype.wordpress.com.

Sidebar at the bottom is usually due to bad html in one or more posts. When something like that happens, you must first click the title of each post to see which post causes the problem (in your case it’s “Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’).

Next, go to Settings>Writing, tick the option “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”, click Save Changes. Then edit the problem post (make any insignificant change, e.g. add then remove a space) and click Update Post.

PS With that option on, this particular problem won’t crop up again.

The solution you have suggested is absolutely correct. I also faced similar problem at the earlier stage of my blog. But it was then the cause of wordpress was automatically correcting the tags thats why. so with the help of support i disabled the feature ie i unchecked the box, and then manually fixed the tags. And it was done.
I can see a lot unclosed div, ul and other tags, and a lot mismatches from the XHTML 1.1 validator.

Thanks so much for the help. Took off that post and now everything is fine. I posted that from my iphone and must have done something weird.
