Widgets and sidebar

  Hi

  I’m new to WordPress, but not site building.

  I’m using the Dara theme and have tried many others and they all state that widgets/sidebar don’t work on the home page. Is there a way to get the widgets/sidebar to show on the home page and also to have them down both sides of the page?
