Widgets gone

  1. Some of the widgets on my sidebar is gone! These include, RSS subscription button, many texts that link to my posts, images, ... Is this just a temporary WordPress problem?

The blog I need help with is

  2. Did you recently change themes?

  3. I changed theme earlier this month on Dec. 7 All along the widgets are fine until just today.

  4. This is the link to Google Cache:

That was Dec. 15. All the images links are now gone, including cluster map, and other icons.

  5. Go to appearance > widgets, collapse the "available widgets" section by clicking on the right end of the title bar and see if you widgets are in the "inactive" widgets area. If they are, just drag them back over and into the sidebar and arrange them as you desire.

  6. No, they are not in the Inactive WIdgets section.

  7. I'll tag this thread then for staff attention as it might be that they will have to pull something out of their hat to get your widgets back, but at the very least they can tell what happened from their logs.

One last question. Do you have anyone else on the blog as an admin?

  8. I'm the only admin on the blog. Guess I've to wait till Jan. 3 for Support to resume. Thanks for your help.

  9. Unfortunately, there's no way to restore them.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

  10. But at least I'd like to know why it happened.

  11. Unfortunately, I don't see any record of the widgets ever being removed.

I haven't seen any further reports of this, so I'd have to rule this as a momentary glitch.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

  12. To restore your text widgets you can use the cached page you linked to: select View Source and copy the image codes.
