I have a theme called balloons but the widgets can only be displayed as a footer. I would really like to display the categories widget on a separate page but cannot find the plain html to do this – any ideas?

The blog I need help with is myyearofwomen.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

My advice is to change themes simply because we cannot edit the PHP and HTML underlying our themes, and we cannot make widgets appear where they are not designed to appear on any theme.

For 128 free 2 column themes see here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/two-columns/?sort=free

Hello, thanks for the help and the link.

I actually managed to fix/get around the problem.

I ended up creating links to the category archive pages on a separate page so it works in the same kind of way!
