Hi, I am trying to install a widget from http://widgetbox.co.uk, but I keep getting this message come up when I try and do it.

if (WIDGETBOX) WIDGETBOX.renderWidget(‘080b014f-e1ae-437d-820e-91d764fedd07’);Get the NON-LEAGUE LATEST widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox! Not seeing a widget? (More info)

I definately copied over the right code as it asked whether it was for Facebook, WordPress etc and I selected WordPress.

    Can someone help with this?

The blog I need help with is fcboro.co.uk.

Without seeing the code, we can’t be for sure, but typically when it says “wordpress” they are meaning the self-hosted wordpress.ORG software and not the blogs hosted here at wordpress.COM.

Check the code. If it contains any script or flash it will not work here. Those are stripped out due to security concerns.

Oh ok that’ll be it then. Shame really because a lot of the widgets I want to add have either javascript or flash. Is the self-hosted .org much different to .com

Yes, self hosted wordpress.ORG installs are different. Yes, you can use javascript and flash on them because they are independent installs and the only security risk will be to your own blog and no one else’s blog.

Here at wordpress.com we are working on a multiuser blogging platform in a shared environment and both flash and javascript can lead to very serious security issues. To comprehend the differences between wordpress.COM free hosted blogs and free software downloads from wordpress.ORG please read this support documentation entry. > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
