    Greetings WPgods,

I’m considering upgrading my account so that I can install bbPress.

My site uses the Wilson theme, which I’ve become quite attached to.

I’m trying to find any WP site which uses both the Wilson theme and bbPress, so I can see the two together before making the leap.

I realize this is a very specialized request, so if anyone can answer you will win one of the following amazing prizes.

    1) A two week all expenses paid vacation in Maui.

    2) A hot date with movie star of your choice.

    3) Your preferred political party guaranteed to win next election.

    4) A sincere thank you from this poster.

The blog I need help with is nuke-ban.org.

    Hi there,

If you install bbPress on your site on our Business Plan, you’ll switch to using the self-hosted version of the Wilson theme rather than the one used on WordPress.com – your site will still be hosted with us on WordPress.com, but to enable you to install plugins we make some changes behind the scenes, including installing the self-hosted version of any theme you’re using. So the self-hosted forums for this theme might be a better place to ask:

    https://wordpress.org/support/theme/wilson/

Wilso is available to use on WordPress.com, but it’s not made by us, so we can’t really comment on its compatibility with any WordPress plugins.

We also don’t maintain any kind of directory of sites using specific themes or plugins, though, so I can’t even tell you if there’s any site hosted on WordPress.com already using those two.

And as this forum is mostly only used by free WordPress.com users who don’t have the option to install plugins on their sites at all, I doubt you’ll get an answer from any other user/volunteer in this forum either.

So I’m afraid we’re not able to help you here.

Thanks. I did ask on WP.org, no reply yet.

Ok, a related question then. I’m on Premium now. Are the higher level accounts also billed yearly? Is there an option to pay monthly?

I don’t understand the self hosted themes you referred to, but we can leave that until later.

All upgrades and renewals can only be paid a year in advance. There’s no monthly payment option for any of our plans.

I don’t understand the self hosted themes you referred to

By that @kokkieh means that if you upgrade to our Business plan you’ll be able to use themes (self-hosted) other than the ones found in our Theme Showcase.

Thank you for this information, appreciate it.

Hmm… Ok, this tells me that the business folks at WP.com aren’t all that interested in selling accounts. A sobering insight, but I do need to know that.

First, I’m perfectly happy with what I’ve got now for $8/month, a quite modest fee. And the lack of monthly payments doesn’t bother me too much at this level.

If I were to increase my investment in my site to $300/year, what is the case for doing so here at WP.com, instead of at a regular host where I could do monthly payments and install all kinds of other software including my own?

    Thanks again!

Sites on Business plan act very much like self-hosted sites. The advantage over self-hosting is that we take care of lots of things that you do not need to worry about, like your site’s security or domain’s SSL. Here’s more information about that:
