Wordpress blog posts completly out of order

  1. All my posts in my blog are all out of order! It has the first post at the top of the page, the third post in the middle, and the second post at the bottom. take a look for yourself:
I have no idea what is wrong! Please help

The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi, Andrew -- this is because it's a new blog. Most themes do not time-stamp the posts, so in the beginning, they do sometimes post out of order, especially if you post several on the same day. This should sort itself out as you post more over the course of the next days and weeks.

A more experienced volunteer may be able to give you more information about the causes of this, and whether the initial few posts will remain in the order they're in or re-order themselves as you continue to post.

  3. Thank you for your advice. I will see if it sorts itself out.

  4. You're welcome! Glad I could reassure you.

BTW, I was glad to see that you have an about page! :) It will help you to keep a focus for your blog & for your visitors to get to know you and connect with you.

Have fun blogging! (And coding! :))

  5. As mmadfan said, the reason is that all three posts were published the same day: you either set your time zone in Settings>General but modified the sample Hello World post to create your first post, or you changed your time zone setting after creating the first post.

No it will not sort itself out. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover under each post title, click Quick Edit, change the time, click Update.

  6. Thanks, panos! I wasn't sure of the exact cause of it -- I'll remember that about the timezone change. :)

  7. You're welcome! The usual cause is the Hello World post (which, more often than not, isn't set to your time zone).

  8. That makes total sense when I think about it. :)

  9. Thanks for all your help. I fixed the problem! :-)

  10. Glad to hear you got it fixed. Good luck w/ your blog!
