WordPress business subscription security
I wanted to know what kind of site security your CMS platform has, specifically with the business subscription.
For example, do you handle backups? If so how frequently? What sort of security protocols do you have in place for your servers? Turn around time when issues do occur? Uptime? Penetration testing?
I was looking at the VIP service, how does it compare to the business subscription? We just want to make sure how protected our site will be if we decide to subscribe to your platform.
The blog I need help with is inbaytechcom.wordpress.com.
I am a Volunteer so I am choosing to punt to Staff. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question
We take great pride in making sure sites are secure. For the WordPress.com Business Plan this means providing tools through Jetpack such as auto-plugin updates and live backups. Jetpack rewind even gives site owners the tools they need to restore their own sites.
The most important thing you can do as a site owner is selective use of third-party themes and plugins. WordPress has a lot of great plugins and themes available but many of them don’t allow automated updates to work properly or haven’t been updated/secured in years. If you choose the WordPress.com Business plan our live chat support can work with you to make sure you’re choosing the options that are right for you.
One of the biggest difference between WordPress.com Business and WordPress.com VIP is that if you choose to work with the VIP team every line of code your site uses is reviewed for security and performance by the team. This is why large publishers such as Facebook, CNN, and Spotify trust the VIP team. Depending on your site’s needs and scale that could be an option for you.
