Recently downloaded WordPress. Wanting to install the theme AWAKE from themeforest.com. Was able to download to my desktop with no problems after purchasing it from themeforest this morn. Unable to upload as my theme. Ideas? Help? Need site up and running by Jan 3rd!!!

The blog I need help with is androd1983.wordpress.com.

You have a couple of issues

http://androd1983.wordpress.com/ – is a WordPress.COM blog and hosted here, you can’t upload a theme to it, security & reliability reasons, also all themes are highly modified to run here

However – http://androd1983.wordpress.com/ – has all the links to http://www.fbcpv.net/ which is a WordPress.ORG install, you should be able to upload a theme to it if you are logged in as an Admin at w.fbcpv.net/

So part of the question is – what is the real site? If you need help with w.fbcpv.net/ you need to get help at WordPress.ORG, the keepers of the software you are using

For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

My apologies….. I’m trying to upload the theme to http://www.fbcpv.net (its a church website).

We cannot help you here. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Then you need to get help at http://wordpress.org/support/

If you don’t have an account there you will need to open an account, there account is not connected to your account here or your blog, so you can use the same user name (if it is not taken) and your current email that you used to register your account here
