WordPress hosted site "pending transfer"

    Hi,

I am wishing to move my site (www.dronevalleybrewery.com) away from being hosted by WordPress, to a new host, called Krystal. So far, I have been following this guide successfully: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

I have “unlocked” my domain and obtained my EPP code, which I’ve entered at my new host, and it is showing up in my Krystal dashboard. However, the domain is currently listed as “pending transfer” both there and in my WordPress dashboard, where I see this message “dronevalleybrewery.com is pending transfer. You must wait for the transfer to finish, and then update the settings at the new registrar.”

I have also received an email from Krystal, saying that the domain transfer has been initiated, but informing me that I need to change my IPS tag to complete the transfer. However, I wasn’t sure where about you do this if your website was a WordPress.com site to start with? Or is it simply not necessary, and the transfer will go through successfully anyway?

Thanks in advance for clearing this up.

The blog I need help with is dronevalleybrewery.com.

    Hi there,

I looked at your account in our system and it looks like everything is good to go from this end. It appears that you are now in the 5 day waiting period. Have you received an email asking to confirm that transfer yet? Once that is confirmed, it will take about 5 days for the transfer to take place.

IPS tags are only needed for .uk domains, so it shouldn’t apply in this instance.

For more information, please take a look at Krystal’s support page:

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Hi Darnell,

    Thanks for your response.

I am attempting to transfer this domain on behalf of the site’s owner, whose email is linked to the account. I have kept in frequent contact with him, and he has, to the best of my knowledge, not received any email to confirm the transfer, despite me starting this process last Wednesday.

Additionally, he feels he may have accidentally cancelled the transfer. However, I am still seeing the “pending transfer” message on my WordPress dashboard, and presume I would not see this if it had been cancelled?

But if he has cancelled the request, or, for any other reason, has failed to receive the email to confirm the transfer, what is the best option to progress? Is there a way to receive the email again, or another way to confirm the transfer?

    Many thanks for your assistance.

On our end, we are showing that the transfer has completed and that the registrar is now https://netistrar.com/

I recommend checking up with them on this.

    Hi Macmanx,

Thank you for letting me know – I can now see the domain active in my Krystal dashboard, and have changed the WordPress nameservers to Krystal’s.

One last thing I just wanted to check, is that when I view my site now, I see this message “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.”

The domain was registered with a WordPress ‘business’ plan. Is there anything I need to do about this? I am wishing to replace my current design with a bespoke site that has been designed through WordPress.org. Will I be able to do this and login in to my Krystal cPanel as normal once the namesever change has been recognised?

    Many thanks for your help.

I am seeing the Coming Soon landing page now. You were seeing the previous message because it usually takes some time for domain to propagate once name servers are updated. But, looks like everything is good to go!

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
