WordPress mobile app locks out IP Address
I’m trying to use the WordPress app for IOS to connect to my self hosted site. It appears to connect OK but then locks out the IP address of the device for around 30 minutes.
Is there a plugin I need for this to work?
I’m using WordPress 4.8.2 with the Hueman theame

I don’t have the Jetpack plugin loaded. Is that required?
Jetpack is not required for managing your site in the mobile app, though it should make things much simpler if you want to consider that.
Can you try adding your site to the app using this link:
Also make sure you’re not using a plugin that has a known conflict with the app:
If that doesn’t work, please use the in-app contact link. The option should appear under the profile tab in the app. If you contact us via that link it will include data from the app logs that will help us better troubleshoot this issue.
Well looks like the problem is my host blocks excessive XML-RCP calls. It seems the WordPress app make loads of them just for even simple operations.
XML-RPC is the only way we have to load data from your site, so the app can’t function without that. Your host might be able to whitelist the app so its requests are not limited, but failing that I don’t have other suggestions.
