wordpress published 25 copies of same post to my blog

I only hit publish one time, but the system helpfully posted 25 copies of my post (“No Laughing Matter”) to my blog, and sent 25 notifications to all of my blog subscribers, along with three copies of an earlier draft with a different title. This was the first time I’d used the “easier” publishing UI. Guess I won’t be doing that again.

The blog I need help with is studiomothers.com.

Same here. I had to go back to the dashboard and delete them.

The only good news is that it wasn’t a virus as I thought one of those spammers hacked my blog.

Blimey! I bet your subscribers’ eyes popped when their inbox started pinging. Lol.

Ironically, my post is about Martha Beck’s rx that we should all laugh at least 30 times a day. And then WordPress sends nearly 30 copies of my post to everyone. Was that supposed to help them meet the 30-laugh quota? If so, I’m afraid it didn’t have the desired effect!

I noticed the same thing happening to another blogger on my subscription list. Dozens of the same post showed up, but at different intervals of completion. I’m wondering if there’s a wire crossed between the “publish” button and the “save” button.

Oddly, I never saw a “save” option in the new “easy” blog UI (which was scary enough). I went from draft straight to publish. So how did an early version make it onto my blog? That could have been quite embarrassing, sending half-baked blog posts to all my subscribers…I can only hope that they all hit delete en masse.

Others have also had this issue. Please report it to Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

    Done, @timethief–thanks.

Sorry about that! This won’t happen again.
