WordPress won't authenticate at Posterous
I have a posterous account. I am trying to set up an autopost from posterous so that my posts also post on my wordpress blog, but I get a message from posterous they can’t “authenticate” my wordpress blog. I have checked and am using the correct user and password. What do I need to do to get authenticated?

Hi, Shesue. I’m having the same problem. And the same thing with trying to use Tumblr for autoposting. Neither will authenticate, even with the proper information supplied to Posterous. I hope someone can help us out, as this is really frustrating. Neither WordPress nor Posterous seems to have anyone providing any kind of support. We are warned by Posterous to have “XML-RPC enabled” on our WordPress blog – whatever that means! Good luck. Daniel
…having the same issue – nobody will comment from either party.
Sorry to hear that, Andre. Just save your blogs from there or transfer them (if you can figure out how to do that safely), then delete you account.
That’s the only kind of treatment Posterous deserves right now.
The folks here at WordPress are great (even if I don’t always agree with them philosophically or practically).
I would add that Twitter, who acquired Posterous, is to blame here. There is an obvious attempt being made to kill off Posterous, for some reason. I’ve even tried communicating with Twitter, but they will not help. I put up with the mistreatment (refusal to fix problems, and no one answering support queries or bug reports) for months. Then got tired of it. My own Posterous account is now gone.
