wordpress.com dashboard on my self hosted site

Please help! I transferred my .com blog to GoDaddy for self hosting. I thought that everything went well but when I go into the dashboard it shows up as this: http://sugarandtrash.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php. I thought I was expecting it to go into this: http://sugarandtrash.com/wp-admin/index.php. With the .wordpress.com dashboard I cannot do anything that I need to be able to do, it is exactly the same as the free .com dashboard. What am I missing? Thank you.

The blog I need help with is sugarandtrash.com.

Your domain name is still pointing at wordpress.com. You have to go into your domain management here and point your DNS records to godaddy (they will give you that information in the welcome email you receive from them).

I’m sorry but we can’t help you with your self hosted WordPress.ORG install on this forum. You need to register a username account at WordPress.ORG and post to the support forum there http://wordpress.ORG/support/

Also note that once you change the DNS records to point at godaddy, it can take anywhere from a few hours to as much as 72 for your domain change to propagate through the internet nameservers. How soon you will see the change depends on how often your ISP updates their nameservers. Some do it continually and some seem to only do it once every 24 hours or so.

Thanks so much for catching this.

G’evening TT, and you are welcome.
