In germany it is not allowed to use the wordpress.com stats plugin, that is basically integrated in the blog. We need an option to deactivate the tracking by this plugin. Every german actually breaks the law by using a wordpress.com hosted blog. Thx for your help.

Wow, really got me thinking .. stats plugins can interfere with IT laws??

Privacy policy and TNC needs to be updated?

Some countries are really fanatical. The thing is, from what I’ve heard the German laws would basically exclude all stats system; google analytics, sitemeter, statcounter, quantcast – virtually all of them.

    Hello,

We did some looking into this to make sure everything was OK and proper with how stats are collected. Quantcast has updated their opt-out page, which can be found here:

    http://www.quantcast.com/opt-out

Please note that Quantcast does not collect personally identifying information, and if you would prefer to not be tracked by them at all, you can click the link you see there to add a cookie to your browser that will opt you out of their tracking.

And, now also available in Google Analytics flavor for Chrome, FF and IE:
