WP loses his appearance if i write a new post

  1. Hi all,

I have a blog based in WP ( and

I exported an xml file from the 1º one to catlinux for make test because i can't see the post in a right way.

Just try to go here ( and you can see that the right bar and all the blog loses they appearance. The same problem occurs in if i write a new post :-(

I tried with different WP themes and is no way to solve it.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    Best regards,

  2. The problem seems to be the photo in this post:

It is too wide and is "breaking" the layout. In the Kubrick theme, the maximum photo width in the post area is 450px. Edit that post and resize the image by grabbing one of the corner handles of the image and making it smaller, or edit the photo in an image editing program, reduce the size, and then upload it again.

  3. /nod to thesacredpath

Aside from what thesacredpath has pointed out the theme you have chosen is Kubrick and it does not display a sidebar on every page. If you want a theme that does display a sidebar on every page then you need to change themes. When choosing a new theme these theme reviews may be helpful

  4. Hi all, thanks a lot for your help.

Well, 1º i modified theme for a new one with column at the right in every post. By this way i hope find more quickly the problem.

2º i modified the photo that thesacredpath said. As you can see here ( i get no solution with a little one.

This blog it's a copy of the original one ( where i get the same problem not only in /page/2/ historic: the same one happens in /3, /4, etc.

How can i solve it? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards,

  5. Just for add that (where it all must function) it's GlossyBlue 1.4 por Nick La

  6. Hmmm. It looks like the page you mentioned is the only one with the sidebar problem

I went through all the posts on that page, and none of them push the sidebar to the bottom by themselves. There isn't anything in the sidebar itself that is likely to cause the problem, so i'm stumped.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

  7. Hi judyb12 , thanks for answer.

I hope you can take a look of

Hi tried changing all theme, also to 3 column one, and the problem keeps going on.

  8. This blog at is not a hosted blog. And to be clear we provide support on this forum only for hosted blogs.

GlossyBlue 1.4 has not been adapted to run on

The only themes available to you to use on a blog are found here -> Presentation -> Themes

Also note that the Blix theme found on this blog has quirks.

  9. i just went back to and the sidebar loads in the correct place now. Did you change something?

  10. @judy
What you are seeing is the Blix default - note the little gold icons. The Blix theme is coded to only display links in one long alphabetical list without sectioning by categories.

  11. @TT:
that has nothing to do with the OP's question :)

  12. @judy
Now I'm really confused. The OP said:

Just try to go here and you can see that the right bar and all the blog loses they appearance. The same problem occurs in if i write a new post :-(

I didn't see any problem with the appearance at all when I looked at the blog.

What did you take this to mean please?

  13. Both of these links seem to have massive problems. With validator.w3c, will not even finish the check because of the following:

"Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 390 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.

The error was: utf8 "\xC3" does not map to Unicode"

And it reports 142 errors on

Now I'm no expert, but to me that would seem to qualify both as "borked."

  14. @thesacredpath
Then in the case of the hosted blog do you believe the blogger should contact staff during support hours using this link?

  15. @TT
That would probably be a good suggestion.

  16. @TT:
the problem i saw yesterday was the sidebar being pushed to the bottom of the screen (like it does when an image is too wide). I don't think the format of the sidebar was really the issue.

given the many quirks of the Blix theme, it doesn't surprise me that it doesn't validate, but you're right, at this point, the OP needs to contact support

Use the Support button that is normally available on your Dashboard Monday-Friday or email support at support[at] When you contact them, make sure you include the following:
    - your browser
    - your browser version
    - your FULL blog address (not the name, the real address that begins http:// )
    - your FULL username
    - your REAL email address that is registered here
    - and a very good description of the exact problem.

  17. Hi all,

thanks a lot for your help. I had resolved the problem in this way:

It was this type of error.

Be carefull where you put the "more" line for continue reading.

  18. Thanks for providing this update. I'm glad to hear you resolved the issue. Happy blogging. :)
