I’m tagging the thread so the Staffs can reset your importer and explain better how to do it. Please wait while they come.

I have reset your importer for you. You can try your import again at any time.

For further instructions on how to do a Xanga import, please see:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

Again I tried to do the import but got stuck. It’s been stuck for the last few days. Could you reset it again. I hope the next time it would work smoothly.

Hi it looks like the import worked but is still stuck at the “processing” state so could you reset it again. It’s been about 24 hours since I did it.

I’ve reset your import again for you.

How many files did you receive in your Xanga export, and how many have you been able to successfully import?

    #1654332

In total 6 files, 4 finished. The problems I had were with the 2 large files which had lots of images. I have 2 more imports but they should go smoothly because they are all texts. Thanks

Excellent. Let me know how it goes!

Again it is stuck, I have 2 more imports left. One of them I tried to import is only 1kb in size. I have 2 xanga blogs and I am trying to combine 2 of the xanga blogs into one WordPress blog. Could you reset and I will try again with the import.

I’ve reset the importer again. We made a small change that might help these imports go through now. If not, please upload them to a file sharing service like dropbox and send me a link, and I can process them on my end. You can post the link here or you can send it to me via email. If you email me, please include my name in the subject line and a link to this forums thread so I can link the two up.

So could you help me import them. Thanks,

I’ll be happy to work on this for you.

I see a bunch of content on your WordPress.com blog http://yushimo.wordpress.com/ now. Is that from the current import or is it from your other Xanga blog?

    #1654347

Yes that is the one I would like to import to.

I’m sorry, I meant, I am seeing content on the blog now. Is that content from your current import, or did it come from your other Xanga blog? In other words, is all of the content you have been trying to import now showing up, or is it missing?

    #1654349

Actually it seems that the import that was stuck imported about half the content and the other half is still missing.

Ultimately I want 3 blogs on wordpress: yushimorimoto, yushiblog, and yushimo. The yushimorimoto and yushiblog imports are complete and finished, they were imported from xanga.

The yushimo blog is actually the yushimorimoto and yushiblog combined together. I’ve been doing it by a xanga xml import. But if there is another easier way that is fine. Thanks!
