For 10 years, I worked in an unusual niche in the industrial video production world, the emergency services (fire mostly). Prior to this, I was a still photographer for a police department and a teaching hospital. My time in video production and editing was interesting, but I was also interested in returning to graduate school so I became a full-time videographer and a part-time graduate student. I earned two Master’s degrees and moved on to a non-media career path in high-tech. Now, thirteen years later, I find I’m still drawn to putting together moving images to tell a story, teach a skill, or communicate a concept. This blog is about my re-education to the current world of digital video production and editing.
