Jimmy Peacock, owner-operator of Peacock Editorial Service, has more than three decades of experience as a freelance copyeditor in the book publishing field. His resume, samples of publishers for whom he has done work and books he has ghostwritten or copyedited, and two samples of his writing can be viewed on his business Web site at www.peacockeditorial.com. An amateur writer with a love for the South, Arkansas, and the Mississippi River Delta, he has written hundreds of humorous and nostalgic stories, reminisces, anecdotes, poems, and essays, all based on his own life and experience and all with a spiritual foundation and application. Many of these works were published in national, regional, state, and local periodicals, especially in Charles Allbright’s Arkansas Traveler column in the Arkansas (Democrat-)Gazette. A former teacher on the high school, junior college, and university levels, Jimmy is a magna cum laude graduate of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and holds the Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Jimmy is the father of two grown sons and the grandfather of two young grandsons. He and his wife of forty-eight years live in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where Marion (whom he calls Mari) recently retired after teaching elementary school for thirty-one years and eight years in their native and beloved Arkansas, the object of most of Jimmy’s longings and the subject of most of his writings.
