Rainbow banner??

Hi, I can see the rainbow image at the top of my screen, for my wordpress account, why is it there?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @mylifeinstep,
I looked into this for you and I cannot see a rainbow image at the top of mylifeinstep.com.
It appears the site is a WordPress.org self hosted site. This support forum is for WordPress.com sites, the differences in the two can be seen at this documentation page:
No worries though, you can get assistance at the WordPress.org forums here:

It’s on my personal account (not public) and I see now (from other forum threads) it is WordPress announcing their political view point on same sex marriage. I think it is pretty dis-respectful and unprofessional for a company to do this especially in this way. And what happens if someone working for them disagrees with their beliefs. Do they loose their job for disagreeing with their workplace!!?? Some of my friends have it on the top of their BLOGS which is not the view of their personal BLOG. I am really disappointed at word press. How do I launch an official complaint please? I cannot see a contact email anywhere.

Ah! Most likely this is not WordPress itself as much as the host that your site is on, as I have WordPress.org sites myself and I do not see the same.
Looking at the site in a Whois I see that you are hosted through CloudFlare. You can reach them via the following link:
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us
It appears you will need to sign into your account there, then they will have a contact link directly to list a grievance.
Hope this helps!

Ah thank you @timethief! I did not realize that other thread was there as well. I will look closer next time :)

No problem! You got it covered with the reference to the thread in your previous post:

@mylifeinstep this should cover your question
How do I launch an official complaint please?
If not there is still the modlook tag on this post so a staff member can respond. If you do have anything else please do not hesitate to let us know though! :)

Hi there,
As explained in the thread @timethief linked to, Australia will be holding a national survey on marriage equality over the next two months. To show our support as a company for marriage equality, we’re showing the rainbow bar in the WordPress.com admin bar to all logged-in Australian visitors. You can read more about the marriage equality campaign here: http://www.equalitycampaign.org.au/
Some of my friends have it on the top of their BLOGS which is not the view of their personal BLOG
We absolutely respect your right to publish the content you choose to your site, but the navigation bar styling reflects WordPress.com’s stance as a company, and can not be disabled on request.

Regardless of whether or not you have any upgrades on your site, before posting here about the rainbow banner on the Admin bar that displays to logged in Australian visitors, please read the sticky post at the top of these support forums https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/rainbow-admin-bar-for-australian-users?replies=1

Yes, I am aware of that sticky post that announces a US-based hosting company wishes to express its support on an Australian political issue.
My problem is not with the political issue, but more that I paid for my WordPress blog hosting, and I feel it inappropriate for WordPress to do this on paid accounts. My blog is a professional one and is politically neutral.
However, obviously, there is to be no discussion on the issue.
I would suggest WordPress users be cautious because whether you are a paying customer or not, the precedent has been set that WordPress will use your blog for political opinion and there is no reason to think it will not do so again in future. Surely, the probability is that no matter the issue there will be paying customers who do and do not have the same stance. That could be you.

Hi folks, to clarify, the WordPress.com admin bar is part of the WordPress.com interface, not a part of your site. We’ll close this thread; please refer to the sticky thread from here. Thank you!
